Chadwick Boseman Signed To Five Marvel Studio Movies As The Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman is officially Marvel’s Black Panther! Fans have been calling for the Black Panther to make his solo movie debut for years and now Boseman will make that happen.

Marvel Studio’s has added diversity to their superhero slate. Chadwick Boseman will be the first African-American lead to star in a Marvel feature film. The Black Panther will hit the big screen in November of 2017.

On top of starring in The Black Panther , Boswick has also signed a five-film deal that has him playing the Black Panther in upcoming Marvel movies, starting with Captain America: Civil War in 2016, reports Deadline .

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that Boseman will bring the Black Panther to life in Captain America: Civil War , which will hit theaters on May 6, 2016. After Boseman wraps up his role in Captain America , he will stand solo in The Black Panther .

“I’m blessed to be a part of this Marvel Universe, and to work with you both, and I look forward to making magic together,” Boseman said while on stage with Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America.)

“Black Panther and all of Wakanda is one of the most interesting characters in Marvel history. Something I already showed you today contains an Easter egg that leads directly into ‘Black Panther.’ He’s a bit of a prince, he may even become a bit of a king, but it’s all about how this isolationist country meets the world. Maybe it goes well, maybe it doesn’t,” Kevin Feige stated, reports Marvel.com .

Fans got a a sneak peak at the Black Panther’s look thanks to some special production concept art that was created by Ryan Meinerding. At the Phase 3 event at the El Captain Theatre in Hollywood, fans received a special poster giveaway of Meinerding’s work.

Chadwick Boseman was born on November 29, 1976. Boseman is multi-talented; besides being an actor, he is also a playwright and screenwriter. Boseman is best known for portraying Jackie Robinson on the big screen in 2013. He also played James Brown in Get on Up in 2014. Also in 2014, Boseman co-starred in Draft Day as Vontae Mack. Boseman has appeared on several top television shows, including Law & Order , CSI: NY , The Glades , Castle , and Justified . His starring role in Marvel’s The Black Panther will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
