When Rusev kicked the U.S. Army Soldier on Monday Night RAW the reaction from the American audience was about what you would expect. Now Triple H is claiming the WWE will deal with the matter internally as part of their kayfabe investigation into the incident. But for real American soldiers, that response is unlikely to be enough.
In a related report by The Inquisitr , you might be surprised to find out that real life Miroslav Barnyashev and Catherine Joy “C.J.” Perry are real Americans who act American in their personal lives – when they’re not acting as the fake Russians called Rusev and Lana .
During WWE Monday Night RAW in Kansas City, a young U.S. Army soldier was shown jumping the barricade in protest, only to receive a super kick by the Russian wrestler after entering the ring. Rusev and Lana were dragged off the stage and WWE officials began tending to the supposed American serviceman. The incident infuriated the Big Show, who stormed out into the ring to give Rusev a piece of his mind.
When Triple H sat dawn with Michael Cole for his weekly fireside chat, Paul Levesque was asked to address the matter of Rusev kicking an American soldier.
“Yeah, you know, unfortunate situation. Listen, I would caution any member of the WWE Universe to remember that they are just a spectator and not to get involved in any way. That matter with Rusev will be dealt with internally. As far as how Big Show deals with that, I will just say this to Rusev: As impressive as he has been, politics aside, I would not want to step in the ring with an angry, 7 foot, 450-pound giant with a knockout punch. It’s not a good place to be.”
Triple H knows how to kayfabe like the best, doesn’t he? While fans in the seats claimed they saw how the apparent U.S. Army soldier was planted , and the majority of the WWE Universe knows the incident was faked, real American soldiers are not too happy with the recent storyline.
American flags are protected by various Federal laws, and when U.S. soldiers handle the ol’ red, white, and blue it’s always with dignity and respect during a ceremony. To see an American flag handled disrespectfully is certain to be upsetting to some American servicemen. Some of The Inquisitr’s own readers believe that “it was a disgrace to attack an American Service Man” even if it was staged as part of a story line, and others speculated that if Rusev makes another attempt to pull down the American, it’s possible a real American soldier could attempt to jump the barricade.
Do you think Rusev has jumped the Russian shark with this incident?
