Elle Macpherson Reveals Feud With Heidi Klum After Losing $150M Lingerie Line

Elle Macpherson recently lost her position as creative director of her $150 million Intimates lingerie line to her rival Heidi Klum, who is 9 years younger than her.

Elle Macpherson is one of the most recognizable people in the fashion industry, especially in lingerie, in which she has been a major influence for the past 25 years. According to an earlier report from the Inquisitr , Macpherson still looks amazing in a bikini at the age of 50. The picture she uploaded to Twitter depicts her on a yacht looking better than some girls in their 20’s.

Ellel Macpherson’s split from Intimates is largely due to a feud with another supermodel Heidi Klum. Macpherson referred to herself as “The Body” in an ad, which sparked the rivalry. Klum recently addressed the situation, “You know, 25 years, that’s quite an empire. That’s quite an amazing business that Elle has created with Bendon. I feel like with all the social media that I have, with the campaigns that we do, I hope that people will hear that I took over and I hope that they’re happy about it. It wasn’t me knocking at the door saying I want to take over. It was offered to me.”

Parent company Bendon confirmed that Macpherson would be leaving Intimates. Bendon CEO Justin Davis-Rice made the change hoping that Klum would be a new face to help the company grow. “I expect the brand to grow immediately by at least $25 million (£16 million) from partners chasing stock as well as from the Heidi launch programme,” he said. Orders have apparently gone up 25 percent since Klum took over.

Klum has also been very excited. “In addition to spending a majority of my career modeling lingerie , I am also a woman whose body has changed over the years,” she said. “I am a mother of four children so I genuinely understand the importance of finding the right lingerie! I want women everywhere to feel sexy, empowered and confident in my collection every time they wear it.”

Elle Macpherson says she will not stop what she is doing simply because Klum has taken over. “I am very proud of the ‘Elle Macpherson Intimates,’ ‘THE BODY’ and ‘Macpherson Men,’ brands which I created and nurtured for the past 25 years and thank the Bendon Group, who has been supportive to the success of my brands. I am relocating to the U.S. with my family and I’m excited about energizing the further growth of the brands in the U.S. market,” said Macpherson.

What will happen to the fashion industry now that the once reigning face of lingerie has left?
