Amanda Bynes has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons once again over the past last week. This all after a similar string of outrageous media incidents last year that began with Bynes throwing a bong out of high-rise apartment building.
Lena Dunham , fresh out with new book Not That Kind of Girl , is trying to attract attention of her own by touring literary festivals promoting herself as a new voice in the medium. Dunham brought up Amanda at one such event put on by The New Yorker , of which Lena is a frequent contributor. Considering Dunham’s past history with mental illness, it seems odd that she would highlight Bynes’ very public struggle with what appears to be bipolar disorder. Then again, the statements she made about Amanda could also be interpreted as supportive. Read below for the Lena’s words, reported by Complex , to decide for yourself.
“I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s been closely following Amanda Bynes’s tweets today. She’s clearly off her medication, the whole situation is really bad… But she did say something kind of similar [to Hannah] which was, ‘I’m not crazy, I’m actually the one who knows everything that’s happening.’ I texted [Jenny Konner] and said, ‘Maybe I’m nuts, but I think Amanda Bynes is actually kind of a great writer. Do you know what I mean?’ She was like, ‘I don’t know what you mean!’”
Amanda’s “great writing,” according to Dunham, appears to be referring a series of tweets that the troubled actress released earlier his week accusing her father was exposing himself to her and sexually molesting her as a child. Bynes’ accusations have since been deleted.
Since then, Amanda has upped the ante on her off-the-wall comments by making a string of other bizarre claims. It appears that these newest comments, presented here in chronological order, fueled Lena’s speech about Bynes.
