Flight 370: Easier To Hide Bin Laden Than Missing Boeing 777?

Flight 370 has been missing for half of a year, and without any trace of the Boeing 777, people are becoming more and more convinced that researchers are looking in all of the wrong places. According to CNN , an underwater search is underway today, with a large vessel towing underwater cameras along the sea bed. Some believe that the fuselage of the Boeing 777 could be found within days. That is, of course, if the plane is actually in the Indian Ocean.

Stuart Minchin, head of the Environmental Geoscience Division of Geoscience Australia, explained that the new search is bound to turn up something… if there is anything to turn up.

“In the second phase of the search, which involves towing devices close to the sea bed to get a very fine resolution picture of what’s down there it’s important to have that level of detail so we don’t run into objects. It’s a long way from shore at very significant depths so it’s a logistical challenge. It’s unprecedented in terms of doing a survey of this size and in this remote location.”

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 might not be in the ocean, of course, which is a concern for many people at this point. Since researchers seem to be focused in one area (albeit a very vast area), many are concerned that other areas (not in the water) are being looked over… neglected, if you will. While one person might consider these conspiracy theories, others actually believe that all possible areas where the plane could have flown should be checked out. Thoroughly.

According to BBC News , there has been quite a bit of speculation about the plane being in another country , like Pakistan. There has been some chatter about a possible highjacking, and how the plane could be kept hidden to use at a later time — perhaps as a weapon against another country.

“World seems transfixed by 777 disappearance. Maybe no crash but stolen, effectively hidden, perhaps in Northern Pakistan, like Bin Laden,” tweeted Rupert Murdoch.

That leaves people to wonder: Is a Boeing 777 easier to hide than Osama Bin Laden was?

The flight path of MH 370 has shown that the plane is somewhere in the southern arc of the initial maps — which has been convincing up until now. However, if new search initiatives don’t provide any concrete evidence, many will start looking into theories of their own. Could the plane actually have landed safely somewhere?
