The slap heard around the WWE Universe is still echoing due to its charges of WWE racism. Former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio, who is now known as Alberto El Patron, has been discussing the issues of racism and pride in Mexico throughout this weekend. In one Twitter tweet the wrestler even seemed to indicate that the truth about the situation with the WWE will become public soon.
In a related report by the Inquisitr , after Alberto Del Rio was let go by Vince McMahon and Triple H he filed a lawsuit against the WWE since he believed the 90 day no-compete clause in his WWE contract was unconstitutional. Alberto also wanted to work with the AAA in Mexico as Alberto Del Patron and Rey Mysterio even showed up for events. But now that Alberto Del Rio won the WWE lawsuit he’s free to wrestle without any restrictions.
Alberto Del Patron’s real name is Jose Alberto Rodriguez, and he puts a lot of personal stock in his pride and dignity, especially his Mexican heritage. While this belief was a big part of his WWE character’s actions in the ring, Alberto personally believed it with all his heart. When WWE social media worker Cody Barbierri allegedly used racist insults in order to rile him up he could not help but defend his beliefs.
The Mexican wrestler has taken to Twitter over the weekend, tweeting a lot about the subject of racism in general, but he also posted that the truth about what caused the WWE to remove him as Alberto Del Rio will soon become known.

The firing of Alberto Del Rio had some speculating that there was more to the story than just the actions of Barbierri and Del Rio. So far, all we know about the “truth” is that were at least two separate incidents that occurred. The first was seven or eight months prior to the famous slapping incident, where it’s said that Barbierri made a bad joke using the Mexican slang for slut. The second incident occurred in Texas and allegedly many WWE employees witnessed Barbierri insult Alberto’s Mexican heritage in some unspecified manner, and Alberto could not contain himself anymore.
We also know a little bit about how Vince McMahon and Triple H reacted to the slapping incident. It’s said that HHH offered to hire Alberto Del Rio back after the news blew over and if Alberto “kept his nose clean.” McMahon also seemed to support Alberto when they talked personally but then the next day he was suspended by the WWE. It’s possible Alberto El Patron may have further allegations of racism in the WWE, but it’s also possible the wrestler will simply inform his fans of all the details regarding the two incidences.
