Former Beatle Paul McCartney will be getting married for the third time this weekend. Sir Paul and his fiance Nancy Shevell will officially tie the knot during a small and private ceremony in London.

The Daily Mirror reports that only 30 people will be attending the ceremony which will be held at London’s Westminster Register Office. The reception will be equally low key as Paul McCartney will host a small gathering in his back garden.

A source close to Sir McCartney said:

“The wedding is in keeping with the way Paul and Nancy have conducted their entire relationship – low-key, understated and fueled by goodwill. Neither of them wanted a huge fuss made and the main priority, for both, was family. It will be a really special, intimate ceremony followed by a fun do under a marquee in the garden.”

McCartney, 69, and Shevell, 51, have been granted special dispensation by the council to have their ceremony on a Sunday. Sunday also happens to be the 71st birthday of McCartney’s fellow Beatle, John Lennon.

According to the Mirror, this will be Paul’s third wedding. McCartney was married in 1969 to Linda Eastman. Eastman passed away in 1998 from breast cancer. Paul then married model Heather Mills in 2002. The couple split in 2006 in one of the most expensive divorces in history.

McCartney and Shevell have kept their relationship rather private. The two have been dating since 2007 and have been engaged since last April.

Is the third one the lucky charm? Will Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell’s marriage last?
