A video showing a loving mother dancing with her son on his wedding day is going viral on YouTube . The video uploaded by Kristie Manning, the daughter of the woman seen in the video, has crossed over 50,000 views already since it was uploaded on September 6. What makes the video special is the fact that the mother seen in the video is a terminally ill cancer patient, and just three days after the wedding of her beloved son, she passed away.

Attending the wedding of one’s children is the dream of every parent. And 61-year-old Mary Ann also had the same dream. Mary Ann, who was battling breast cancer for the past three years, was worried about not making it for her son’s wedding. However, towards the end of her battle with cancer, she resolved to not “go” before she witnessed her son’s wedding. As KTVU reports, Mary Ann did manage to fulfill her wish. Not only did she attend her son’s wedding, she also danced with her son – for the last time.

Kristie Manning told KTVU how determined Mary Ann was to get to the wedding of her son.

“She didn’t care how she had to do it, whether that meant pumping more chemo in her body, whatever.”

For Ryan Manning, her son, the occasion was simply overwhelming and special.

Ryan said,

“I think that everybody kind of realized what they were seeing and what they were seeing was an incredibly strong woman doing a magnificent thing. A miracle. There is absolutely no doubt that that woman, a very strong woman, fought incredibly hard to get to that point.”

In the video uploaded to YouTube , a frail – but happy and determined looking Mary Ann is seen delicately dancing with her son, with her hands placed on her son’s shoulders. Both danced to “Somewhere over the Rainbow.”

The fact that Mary Ann was able to stand up and dance is being considered a miracle in itself because just a few months before the wedding, she was confined to a wheelchair and was fast losing her battle with cancer.

Mary Ann’s second daughter Karie Chamberlain said,

“It was incredibly emotional, especially to see her pop out of the wheelchair. For the days leading up to the wedding, we were helping her do everything, even walk. To see her just jump up, it was amazing.”

The joy of the family was however short-lived. Just 72 hours after the touching dance with her son, Mary Ann passed away. Her children and family will, however, always cherish the moment they captured on this video.

Did the video make you cry?
