Is Daniel Craig about to play a mysterious role in Star Wars Episode VII ? The latest in the rumor mill for the J.J. Abrams blockbuster is that, indeed, James Bond will join forces with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) for this new installment in the intergalactic saga.
Here’s the deal: According to a report that appears in the British publication Metro , a source told the The Sun that Daniel Craig — who is getting ready to start production for Bond 24 — begged his good friend J.J. Abrams to give him a role, for crying out loud, and the director agreed. But this comes with a big catch: Don’t expect to see Craig on screen, according to this information.
The source reveals Craig already came and went to Pinewood Studios in London — where Star Wars Episode VII is currently under production. He was there incognito, for two days, last week to film his part in the movie and the media didn’t spot him.
“Daniel is close friends with J.J. Abrams. He asked for some sort of secret cameo role – and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love playing the guessing game trying to work out which covered-up character is Daniel.”
Even though, Daniel Craig went undetected while coming in and out of the Star Wars Episode VII set, he was reportedly seen hanging out in his good friend Carrie Fisher’s dressing room. Fisher is one of the original cast members who will return to reprise her role as Princess Leia.
The epic production is back in full swing after taking a break following Harrison Ford’s surgery. In June, the actor suffered a broken leg when one of the Millennium Falcon’s hydraulic doors fell on him. However, he is now good to go, and the interruption was much shorter than everyone anticipated.
As reported by The Inquisitr last week, some aerial photos of the legendary spacecraft were posted to Twitter, after Matthew Myatt (@FlyMAC_Popham) was taking publicity photos for a flying school and inadvertently spotted the Millennium Falcon instead.

If Daniel Craig is indeed doing a cameo for Star Wars Episode VII , he will join original cast members Ford, Fisher, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2 D2), and Anthony Daniels (C3PO), along with newcomers Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and Max Von Sydow.
