‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’: Is Ms. Marvel In Or Out?

The Inquisitr reported earlier this month that Avengers: Age of Ultron may feature a cameo by Ms. Marvel. A new report Thursday suggests that Marvel Studios is undecided on whether to introduce the character through the next assembly of the Avengers or through a separate film.

Devin Faraci of Badass Digest originally reported that multiple drafts of the Avengers: Age of Ultron script reference Ms. Marvel, a super heroine role originally filled by Carol Dancers in the comics before she was promoted to Captain Marvel. The role of Ms. Marvel is currently filled by Kamala Khan, a 16-year old Pakistani-American in her own comic book series that launched in February.

According to Faraci, Ms. Marvel was in a closing scene cameo in the latest draft of the script he saw at the beginning of August. That apparently has changed now that we are closing out the end of the month with the latest update on Badass Digest .

But now I’m hearing that Marvel has cold feet about including her in the film. Not because they’re against the character – my sources assure me she is coming and it’s very plausible she could be on the team in Avengers 3 – but because they’re not certain they want to introduce her in this way. They basically aren’t certain they want to just drop her into the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe] fully formed in a team movie.

Interestingly, director Joss Whedon has already announced that filming on Avengers: Age of Ultron has wrapped up. There are no leaked set images or call sheets featuring someone playing Ms. Marvel. The most likely scenario is that the post-credits scene that she is rumored to be a part of will be filmed closer to the film’s release. That was how the infamous schwarma restaurant scene was filmed at the end of the original Avengers film.

There are other rumors floating around that Marvel is going to try and avoid origin stories with its new MCU characters going forward.

Ms. Marvel would be a much needed addition to the MCU since there is a real lack of super-powered female characters. Lady Sif from Thor and Scarlet Witch from Avengers: Age of Ultron is pretty much it when it comes to ladies in the powers category.

Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige has expressed a desire to create a female-led superhero movie , but said making that happen was like moving around pieces on a chessboard. It’s possible Avengers: Age of Ultron could be Marvel’s opening gambit.

Do you think you Ms. Marvel should be in Age of Ultron ? And if so, which one? Sound off in the comments below.
