‘Star Wars: Episode VII’: Villains May Have Been Revealed [Spoilers]

The main villains of Star Wars: Episode VII may have been revealed today, and if the current rumor is true, some familiar foes will be menacing a galaxy far, far away. Be warned, spoilers do follow.

According to The Latino Review , the villains of Star Wars: Episode VII , previously rumored to be Sith Witches, are in fact the Inquisitors. Fans have already been introduced to one Inquisitor, the main antagonist of the upcoming Star Wars: Rebels animated series. In Episode VII , however, it appears that several Inquisitors will be on hand to menace the Rebel Alliance:

“They seem to be loosly based on the now-deleted Expanded Universe Inquistors mixed with the hardended Sith look of Rebels’ villain. The Inquisitors are defenders of the Sith Order and they’ve been around for a long time. Just how long is what turns Episode VII ‘s story on it’s head.”

The Inquisitors won’t be the only villains featured in the film, however. As io9 relates, Luke Skywalker’s explanation of the Inquisitor order, which has been tied to the Sith all along, will trigger a flashback. In that sequence, Billie Lourd, who is Carrie Fisher’s biological daughter, is thought to be playing a much younger Princess Leia, sharing screen time alongside a major villain with whom Star Wars fans are all too familiar.

The Inquisitors will be seen in the flashback serving Darth Vader.

As The Inquisitr has previously reported, Vader’s presence in Star Wars: Episode VII has already been rumored, as well as the casting of WWE star Sheamus as the black-clad villain. According to Rob Bricken, writing for io9 , that may not be a bad thing:

“Although the idea of a flashback retconning the original trilogy freaks me out more than a little, I find this a perfectly acceptable way to get Vader in Episode VII (if nothing else it’s infinitely better than resurrecting him somehow).”

Indie Revolver , meanwhile, has provided a description of Episode VII ‘s Inquisitor, and it sounds far more fierce than the Star Wars: Rebels version:

“He’s tall and thin and terrifyingly creepy, with glowing red eyes to match his red lightsaber. He’s got some robotic upgrades, like Vader – but no mask. The cybernetic bits weave in and out of him. He’s got a human upper lip, a steel jaw… and the robotic hand that JJ Abrams posted an image of.”

The villains of Star Wars: Episode VII hit the screen on December 18, 2015.
