As of this writing, Guardians Of The Galaxy is sitting pretty at 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes , making it Marvel’s biggest critical success since Iron Man in 2008. At the center of the success is Chris Pratt with his role as Peter Quill (A.K.A “Star-Lord”), who becomes the de facto leader of the Guardians in the film. In an interview with CNN , James Gunn, the director of Guardians Of The Galaxy , touts his confidence in Pratt as an actor:

I think Chris is the biggest actor in the world, it’s just people don’t know it yet…He’s got that old-time charm of Gary Cooper. He’s got the vulnerability of a very modern actor. He’s a big masculine guy that can definitely beat the crap out of any other movie star out there…. There’s nobody else out there like him.

With the film’s success, his great talent, and general likable nature, Pratt seems to have his finger on the proverbial pulse of the the industry. The doors have officially opened for Pratt, and one has to wonder what is in store for this man who is likely to have a long and successful career.

It wasn’t too long ago that Chris Pratt made his living doing character roles . You may recognize Pratt as Barry from Wanted, whose face James McAvoy smashed with keyboard, or as the first baseman in Moneyball who was terrified of anyone hitting the ball in his general direction. You probably mostly recognize Pratt, however, as Andy Dwyer in the very successful television show Parks And Recreation , which will be starting its final season this fall.

In a previous Inquisitr article , I brought up the idea that Chris Pratt was being groomed to take over from Robert Downey Jr. as the poster boy for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Guardians taking in as much money as it has so far, and with Downey still only signed on for the remaining Avengers films, it still remains a possibility, but Marvel isn’t the only thing Pratt has on his plate.

Chris Pratt also leading another big franchise: Jurassic World , the much-anticipated entry in the Jurassic Park franchise. Piggy-backing off the release of Guardians , Colin Trevorrow, the Jurassic World ‘s director tweeted a new image of Pratt as Owen:

Slowly but surely, Pratt is starting to become the go-to for quality blockbusters, and hopefully Jurassic World that trend will continue. With only that film, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 , and potentially The Lego Movie 2 on his list of upcoming features, one has to wonder if Chris Pratt will continue the way of blockbusters, or take a step back to work on smaller films so that he won’t be perceived as a one-trick pony. Only time will tell.
