An image depicting the titles of Marvel’s “Phase Three” movies has been circulating the internet ever since San Diego Comic-Con, and while it has yet to be verified, it reveals that superhero fans may be in for a few exciting films in the next five years.
While the authenticity of the photo is most certainly in doubt, Business Insider points out that Marvel announced its “Phase Two” movies in a distinctly similar fashion. The photo originally appeared on 9gag before spreading across the internet thanks to Marvel fans.

If the photo is indeed legitimate, it reveals that Marvel has some very exciting, if also predictable, films in the works. While Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are movies that Marvel has confirmed and fans are eagerly anticipating, the photo reveals that other franchises will be receiving sequels or debut movies.

Sequels to Thor , Captain America , and Guardians of the Galaxy are all represented in the image. Thor: Ragnarok is penciled for May 5, 2017, while Captain America: The Fallen Son would arrive a year earlier on May 6, 2016. A Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, War of Kings , may be slated for July 28, 2017, if the Marvel image is correct. A third Avengers movie, titled Civil War , would be released by Marvel Studios in 2018 along with World War Hulk . Doctor Strange , Black Panther , and The Inhumans would all be stand-alone or first-in-series releases in the Marvel universe.

As The Inquisitr has previously reported, Marvel officially announced the release dates for a number of untitled films through 2019 several weeks ago. Some of those release dates have already been given confirmed titles by Marvel, lending credibility to the image. At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Marvel Studios confirmed a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy , which is the same as the one represented in the photo. While Captain America 3 has not had an official title announced by Marvel, it is nonetheless legitimately scheduled for 2016.

It is also a known fact that Robert Downey Jr. is signed with Marvel Studios to star in a third Avengers movie. The image seems to imply that the film will be based on Marvel’s Civil War storyline, in which superheroes were divided over the issue of registering their powers with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the U.S. government.
Fans no doubt have much to look forward to as Marvel Studios moves forward over the next few years, though it remains to be seen if Marvel’s Phase Three movies have been legitimately revealed.
