Howard Stern gave an anti-Israel caller a history lesson on his SiriusXM radio show in a way that only the so-called King of All Media can. Listen below ( NSFW for language).
As Stern alluded to in his rant, and perhaps which seems lost in the historically challenged media coverage of the Gaza hostilities, the Jewish state, which is located on a tiny sliver of land, has been under attack since its post-Holocaust founding. While civilian casualties are horrible in any conflict, the current invasion was precipitated by unrelenting rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza into Israel, plus the construction of secret tunnels to mount attacks on Israeli citizens.
Designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government, Hamas nonetheless was elected by the Palestinians to run Gaza, and those terrorists insist on using innocent Palestinians as human shields for propaganda purposes. Hamas, whose charter calls for genocide against Jews, also stores rockets in locations such as places of worship, schools, and hospitals.
In his oration, Stern referenced the fact the neighboring Arab countries have forced many Palestinians to live in squalor rather than granting them citizenship in their countries, which is the norm for refugees throughout human history. Stern also gave a negative shout-out to Israel basher Roger Waters of Pink Floyd
Said Stern about the current Israel-Hamas violence in the Middle East:
…Jews get enough s**t all over the world. They get s**t on all the time. Jews are the indigenous people of that area. I’m sick of the bulls**t. And the Arabs don’t even want those Palestinians, otherwise they’d let them matriculate into their country… If you’re anti-Israel, then you’re anti-America. It’s the only democracy over there, it’s the only friend we have who’s willing to fight and stand up for what’s right… People forget history. Jews were being executed and killed, and they went over to Israel, this little s**thole, which was a desert — it had nothing going on…”

Stern claimed that median income in Israel is $30,000 as opposed to $2,000 in the Palestinian areas, in part because of rampant corruption in areas under Palestinian control. With that mind, the Palestinian anger at Israel is misplaced, according to Stern:
“…But the Palestinians are mad at the Israelis, instead of being mad at the f**king terrorists running their so-called country — who are raping the country, taking all the aid the United States actually gives to them. That they’re not angry with; they’re angry with Israel… They elected terrorists to run their country. That’s the difference. Who do you support? Get off your f**king high horse…”
In another history lesson for the media, Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev had to school clueless MSNBC host Joy Reid that the Israel Defense Force withdrew from Gaza eight years ago, but the terrorist assault on Israel continued. He also reminded her of the unprecedented measures that the Israel military takes to minimize civilian casualties in these very difficult combat situations.

As compiled by Twitchy , actor Mark Pellegrino also came to the defense of Israel, using Twitter as his forum.
Do you think that the news media reporting of the Israeli-Gaza conflict is fair and presents an appropriate historical perspective?
