Rumer Willis has a big “Problem” with the lack of skin safety awareness nationwide. So the Sorority Row star is using Ariana Grande’s hit song to help spread the word.
Rumer debuted the hilarious Ariana Grande parody video called “SPF” with Constantine Rousouli and Jake Wilson on July 23. The video parodies Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea’s smash single “Problem” and to date has scored 15,361 hits on YouTube . The video’s main attraction centers around Rumer Willis and a horde of bare chested men getting sunscreen applied to their bodies.
The Ariana Grande “Problem” spoof was written and directed by Jake Wilson, who also provides the Iggy Azalea rap portion midway through the video. Constantine Rousouli, meanwhile, takes on the Ariana Grande role of lead vocalist. At one point, Rousouli mimics Grande directly with a spot-on pose underneath a giant billboard photo of Ariana herself. Finally, Rumer Willis provides the sexy whispers in between breaks in the verses.
Speaking of the newly blond Willis, Rumer sports a series of sexy bikinis throughout the “SPF” video while taking on the challenge of moistening up various men with sunscreen. Clearly, she is concerned for everyone’s skin safety. The same newly protected hunks form a synchronized dance routine behind Rumer as she wades in a small pool of water. She too applies sunscreen, assuring her toned body will ward off any harmful UV rays from the sun. The “Problem” spoof then ends with a celebration of all involved as they splash each other, drink, and generally have fun in the sun.
No word on whether Ariana Grande herself has seen or reacted to the video. Ariana might be too busy dealing with a roller coaster of events in her personal and professional life. As reported by The Inquisitr , Grande has been mourning the loss of her grandfather. This coming on the heels of her MTV VMA nominations .
In addition to her VMA nods, the smash single “Problem” continues to shatter digital and sales records, according to Billboard . Clearly, that’s one reason why Rumer Willis decided to spoof the song, taking a page out of Weird Al Yankovic’s book by latching on to the most famous song on radio today.
Meanwhile, Ariana’s newest song, “Break Free,” premiered on MTV’s Total Request Live and is also building solid radio play as it permeates America. While not as attention grabbing as “Problem,” it could provide more fodder for parody in the future.
