Colin Firth is a successful actor with an extensive career, so it would be easy to forget about some of the duds that may or may not have plagued his career. Except for the fact that his latest much younger co-star Emma Stone wouldn’t let him forget one film in particular.

The 25-year-old actress currently stars with Firth in Woody Allen’s Magic in the Moonlight , and while filming, the actress revealed that she live texted Bridget Jones Diary: The Edge of Reason to the actor one day.

While Bridget Jones Diary was schmaltzy it was still considered a box office success. The sequel on the other hand was an embarrassing mess, and one that Firth was obligated to be in once the first film took off. While the films have some sort of cult status with women, notably Emma Stone, we’re sure Firth would just like to forget the whole thing happened.

While paired with Firth in an interview, Stone revealed to The Daily Beast about her guilty pleasures and her Colin Firth love:

“I’ve seen Love Actually about 18 times. I’ve seen Bridget Jones too many times now.”

“You were so upset with me! I live-texted Colin the plot of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason a few months back while I was watching it. You were very upset with me, if I remember correctly. I talked him through what he was doing.”

Colin Firth explained his displeasure in the moment:

“She’s talking through my back catalog via text! I might decide to not revisit stuff in the past, and then you get a good friend saying, ‘Oh, when you were doing this you had this and that expression on your face.”

Stone interrupts and jokingly defends herself.

“It was all complimentary! But I’ve seen many of Colin’s movies. Although my mother absolutely does love Colin, I will say that.”

For those that are interested Emma Stone and Colin Firth star in Woody Allen’s newest film Magic in the Moonlight . In the film they play two lovers (despite the age gap). Stone plays Sophie, an American woman who can tell the future and communicate with the dead.

Firth plays Stanley, who is a successful illusionist and goes by the name Wei Ling Soo. Stanley is hired to travel to Côte d’Azur to defraud Sophie. As odds would have it, they end up connecting and that’s when things get complicated.

Magic in the Moonlight hits theaters on July 25
