After a phone hacking scandal rocked the 168-year-old News of The World publication owner Rupert Murdoch has decided to close down the publication with Sunday marking the last edition for the organization.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal James Murdoch noted:
“If recent allegations are true, it was inhuman, and has no place in our company.”
According to the younger Murdoch, the paper has “voluntarily given evidence to police” while he threw those responsible for the scandal rightfully under the bus, noting “those who acted wrongly will have to face the consequences.”
168 years in business and all it took to close the paper was a phone hacking scandal, welcome to the new world of technology.
