Xbox One ‘Titanfall’ Bundle Confirmed, Without ‘Titanfall’ Controller

The Xbox One Titanfall bundle has been confirmed, with Microsoft planning to offer EA’s latest mech warfare title free with the console. Could this be Electronic Arts’ way of trying to make up for their terrible launches of previous years?

After SimCity and Battlefield 4 , it can be said that EA owes us something big to make up for it, and Titanfall may just be the first step toward earning the gamers’ trust back. The Titanfall beta test is one of those steps toward doing just that.

This is also the closest we can expect to get to an Xbox One price drop any time soon. The game will come in digital format pre-installed on the hard drive, a great deal for a brand new killer IP. The cost of the console itself won’t be cut, but it will come with Titanfall for free, and that is as close to a discount as we’re likely to see for the next few years.

If you want to take advantage of the closest thing we’re likely to see to an Xbox One price drop for a while, you might want to preorder the Xbox One Titanfall bundle. Available stock could sell out quickly considering the anticipation surrounding EA’s latest. With the Titanfall beta attracting over 2 million gamers on Xbox One and PC, this could be the bestselling game of 2014.

If you don’t want to spend extra, you will need to make do with Microsoft’s stock controller. The Xbox One Titanfall controller won’t be included with the console. Admittedly, it is mostly a paint job so if you’re not in a hurry to play Respawn’s most anticipated game this year you can always just decorate the Xbox One controller yourself. The exclusion of the controller from the console price is most likely due to stock on hand (limited edition), and it might not be practical for Microsoft to bundle it.

If you’re still undecided about whether you want Titanfall , given EA’s history with releases, know that Respawn has fixed ten major issues already thanks to the Titanfall beta. They are also aware that new issues will also be discovered later on and are prepared to fix whatever problems are found.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was launched the same way (with the developer fixing issues as they were discovered), so we can probably expect the Xbox One Titanfall bundle to be one of the bestsellers of 2014. Are you planning to buy the bundle when it hits shelves in North America on March 11 (and March 14 in Europe)?
