New York City has a plan to feed their poor, they want to feed them captured geese that are found around airports and other public areas where they have become a nuisance for pilots and city citizens.
No this isn’t a joke, the city wnats to send the Geese to a Pennsylvania slaughterhouse to process the meat and then have it shipped back to the city where it will be given away at various city based food banks.
According to state officials, Pennsylvania was chosen for processing since they already have the facilities in place that would be needed to properly slaughter and distribute the bird.
New York began capturing the birds after Capt. Chesley Sullenberger had to land his passenger plane in the hudson when Geese collided with the planes engines.
Not good enough for the landfills? Just feed them to the homeless!
