It seems as if Taken star Liam Neeson may be back to reprise his role as Ra’s Al Ghul in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises film, slated to hit cinemas on July 20, 2012.
According to multiple reports, Neeson- who appeared to die at the end of Batman Begins- was spotted filming a scene playing the role of his old character earlier this week.
Although it’s quite possible that the actor may have been filming a flashback scene, some speculate that Neeson’s character will be resurrected when a Lazarus Pit is unveiled in the upcoming movie.
Warner Bros refused to comment on Neeson’s role when contacted by website Hit Fix stating it was ‘simply not policy when it comes to the Batman films that [Christopher] Nolan and company make.’
Other actors to star in the upcoming film include Christian Bale, reprising his role as Batman, Josh Pence (The Social Network), playing a younger version of Ra’s al Ghul, Anne Hathaway, playing Catwoman, and Tom Hardy, taking on the role of the juggernaut Bane.
The Dark Knight Rises is the third part in director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
