Axl Rose Gets Furious About Danish Giraffe Slaughter, Issues Twitter Rant

Axl Rose isn’t happy with Danish zoo officials at the moment.

When word started to spread that a healthy giraffe was recently slaughtered and ultimately dismembered to prevent inbreeding, the Guns N’ Roses frontman decided to weigh in on the situation. Like many folks, Rose isn’t particularly happy with how the situation played out.

In a series of posts on Twitter, Axl Rose didn’t hesitate to share his anger with fans and followers. Although he started out the rant by making a joke about those “crazy Danes” and their “tasty baby Giraffica sliders,” his silly tone soon transformed into micro-blogging anger.

The singer explained:

“But seriously, let me get this straight… The Danes killed a 2yr old baby giraffe, chopped it up n’ fed him to the lions (allegedly in front of kids) to avoid inbreeding rather than find a place for it. Maybe this is a big problem over there I don’t know but I’m not getting how this deters siblings n’ various other assorted Danish family members from f***in’ each other?!”

Before he officially signed off on the matter, Axl Rose decided to issue one last joke about the recent giraffe killing. It’s definitely in poor taste, but it’s not altogether surprising given his first post on the subject.

“Lemme get a Giraffica, a homemade cherry Danish, some o’ them pre-fried Pepper’s… Oh! n’ a liter of cola!” Rose tweeted.

Danish zoo officials told CNN they had no choice but to put down the giraffe since they’re a part of an “international breeding program.” Copenhagen Zoo’s Bengt Holst added, “If we just sterilize him, he will take up space for more genetically valuable giraffes.”

This certainly isn’t the first time Axl Rose decided to share his opinion with the public in recent days. The Gun N’ Roses frontman also took issue with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ decision to “mime” their performance during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Although bassist Flea explained to fans that the NFL placed heavy restrictions on the live performance, Rose didn’t seem to care. After penning an op-ed on the matter, he had the missive published by the folks over at Billboard .

Rose wrote:

“I enjoyed the show and I’ve no idea what the real story is nor would I want to suggest or imply anyone wasn’t actually performing or that what they were playing wasn’t what we actually heard. That said I feel it’s important to always look on the positive side of things and to give the benefit of doubt.”

The singer added:

“So consider that maybe sometime before their actual performance that rather than use a guitar cord or standard wireless, that in the name of science and for all mankind Flea courageously had a newly invented breakthrough in microchip technology installed in his ass that picked up the frequencies of his bass and transmitted them to his amplifier. Maybe they all had microchips installed in their asses and not only pick up the frequencies of their instruments but get Direct TV and the internet too! Like Google Glass… Google Ass!”

What do you think about Axl Rose’s Twitter rant about the Danish giraffe slaughter? Are you surprised that the singer decided to weigh in?
