Justin Bieber is in Toronto today after agreeing to surrender at a police station to face a charge over the alleged assault of limousine driver back in December.
As IQ previously reported, Toronto police were called to the area of Dundas Street West and University Avenue on Sunday, December 29, 2013, where the limousine driver for Bieber’s entourage had pulled over.
That evening, the 19-year-old superstar attended a Toronto Maple Leafs game at the Air Canada Centre with his father Jeremy Bieber, childhood pal Ryan Butler, and other friends.
At the time, Constable Victor Kwong with the Toronto Police Service told Canadian and international press that they were investigating an assault allegation and that Bieber was in the limousine, but couldn’t confirm whether the star or a member of his crew was involved in the alleged crime.
TMZ reports, the investigation then changed direction and focus fell on the “ Baby ” singer. The website claims police allegedly told the young star they wanted to talk to him about the matter but he failed to come in for an interview.
Citing law enforcement sources, CBC News and TMZ report Bieber is in Toronto and will shortly arrive at the 52 Division police station [reportedly around 7pm] to be booked for alleged assault, given a notice to appear at a later date and then released.

The charge is just the latest legal bombshell for the embattled teen star, who, even in his own native Canada – he was born in London, Ont., and raised in nearby Stratford – is running into heat with authorities.
Last Thursday Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida and later charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired licence. The singer, and his friend R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff were both arrested during what police described an illegal street drag race just after 4 am.
Justin drove a rented, yellow Lamborghini with one passenger – current gal pal with a past, model Chantel Jeffries , 21 – while Sharieff steered a red Ferrari.
Miami police alleged Bieber admitted to smoking marijuana, consuming one beer, and taking a prescription medication.
It has since been revealed Bieber’s blood-alcohol levels in two breath tests were estimated at 0.014 and 0.011, which is under Florida’s 0.02 legal limit for under 21’s.
It has also been revealed Sharieff had a zero alcohol in his blood. However, further tests results for other substances are being worked up and will reveal whether the pair were high.
A Miami-Dade County judge has set a February 14 arraignment date for Bieber to enter his plea for the formal filing of triple charges.
However, Bieber’s lawyer Roy Black has just filed a written “Not Guilty” plea on behalf of his client which means Justin will not appear at the arraignment.
We will update on developments in the alleged Toronto assault case as they unfold.
