‘Star Wars’ Secrets Revealed By Mark Hamill

For Star Wars geeks, any kind of additional information about the films, especially the original trilogy, is always a good thing. Mark Hamill has made many of us very excited with the latest revelations about his time playing Luke Skywalker among other things.

One of the most popular franchises in movie history, we thought we had heard all there is to know about Star Wars Episodes IV through VI.

Mark Hamill spilled the beans while participating in a Reddit “Ask me Anything” session, and shared some interesting pieces of information.

But before any revelations about the original Star Wars trilogy, Hamill was asked whether he, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford would be making an appearance in the seventh installment.

“The only character I know for sure is returning is my friend R2-D2,” he said. “He hasn’t stopped beeping about it.”

Later on Mark Hamill wrote:

“Haha. I’m not being coy, really. When I find something out, I’ll let everybody know. But nothing has been decided yet.”

This contradicts a report in TV Guide that says Carrie Fisher confirmed the three actors would reprise their roles in Star Wars Episode VII .

Fisher said the trio would be arriving on set to reprise their roles as Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker in March or April.

Unless Mark Hamill does not have the latest information, it is unlikely Fisher would state their return with such certainty. Let us hope.

When pressed for anymore information about the latest Star Wars installment, the 62-year-old actor said:

“Im good at keeping secrets. Especially when the goal it to maximize the enjoyment of the audience. That’s why I’m worried about episode 7, they’re going after casting sheets!. Im [sic] trying to keep the surprises for the movie, not for the internet. I hate spoilers.”

He has a point. Otherwise, might as well reveal the whole plot, but what would be the fun in that?

One of the most shocking pieces of information revealed by the Star Wars actor is that Harrison Ford was completely unaware that Darth Vader was Luke’s father while filming.

“Harrison turned around and said ‘I didn’t know that! Why the f*** didn’t you tell me?!’” And for those who have spent years wondering what it’s like inside a taun taun, apparently it’s “warm and cozy.”

Apparently, Ford — Han Solo in the films — didn’t realize the fact until he saw the movie in its entirety.

Mark Hamill also thinks that an older Jedi master like Luke Skywalker would have a beard, like Obi-Wan Kenobi:

“I have a feeling it’s beard, but I have no confirmation of that.”

Filming for Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to begin in the UK in May and will be directed by J.J. Abrams.
