Dee Dee McCarron thought it would be funny to post the message you see in the picture above on Twitter as she listened to Jameis Winston speaking at a news conference following the Seminoles’ win over Auburn.
By way of a response to the seemingly senseless Tweet posted by Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s mother, Dee Dee McCarron, Winston Tweeted: “For the people that criticize the way that I talk this is for y’all. The Florida state Seminoles are national champions! That is all.”
Some time after McCarron sent the pointless Tweet, she realized what a bad idea it was to post it in the first place, and promptly deleted it. Unfortunately, most of her 23,000 Twitter followers already received the message, before it was deleted.
She tried to calm the waves of allegations of racism, apologizing for the Tweet with another: “Any1 that knows our family knows we r far from racist. My tweet was not in anyway meant that way. I sincerely apologize if it offended any1.”
It is a fact that Winston was emotional when he took to the podium at the news conference and seemed to stutter a little as he tried to find the right words. When he was asked what he and Coach Jimbo Fisher said to each other following the win, he said:
“We champions. We can share that. We are champions together. And through everything that we went through, through all the haters, through every single thing, we came out victorious.” crediting God.
