Timothy Davison from Poland, Maine, was shot to death in what police are saying may have been a road rage -fueled attack in Pennsylvania. Police have stated that Davison, 28, was traveling along Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania when he “apparently began to be pursued by a driver in another car.”
The public information officer for the Chambersberg Police Department in Pennsylvania, Rob Hicks, told ABC News that Davison began to be pursued by a driver in another car around 2 AM Saturday morning. Davison had called 911 and told the dispatcher that someone from the perusing vehicle was shooting at him. According to the Huffington Post , Davison also told the dispatcher that the perusing car was in fact a pickup truck .
The truck reportedly smashed into Davison’s SUV about three miles north of the Maryland-Pennsylvania border. Authorities say that Davison’s vehicle was then run off the road, and his pursuer got out of the pickup truck and opened fire on Davison.
When police responders were able to reach Davison, he was found wounded, but alive. He was then transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. Investigators have said that they are going to investigate this situation, and they only have Davison’s call to 911 to go from.
“He was on 911 for the majority of the time of this incident so we’re reviewing the tapes right now,” Hicks told ABC News affiliate WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pa. “We’re hoping we can get some more information that might help us find out what happened and who did it.”
So far the only information police have to go off of is Davison’s description of the car. He told the 911 operator that the perusing vehicle was a dark-colored, small pickup truck, possibly a Ford Ranger. Police have also stated that they have no reason to believe that Davison knew his pursuer or what may have led to the violent confrontation.
