Demi Lovato recently decided to take a short break before heading out on the road.
For those who haven’t kept up with the former Sonny with a Chance star, Lovato decided to ditch The X Factor in favor of a new tour. Before she starts playing shows to her legion of fans, the singer will take a month off to spend some time with family and friends.
If she wants to spend some quiet time at home, then she’d better get started. The first date on her upcoming “Neon Lights” tour is February 9 in Vancouver.
“Taking the month off…. Kind of… What am I gonna do?” Lovato wrote on Twitter .
This isn’t the first announcement Demi made on Twitter in recent days. Not only did she tell everyone all about her plan to stay health in 2014, Lovato also said she isn’t going to put up with any shenanigans from folks who feel the need to spew hate.
“2014 equals health, fitness, strength, and music. It’s not about looking in shape, it’s about being emotionally and physically in shape from the inside out. Screw New Years, I’m starting now,” she tweeted.
The singer added, “Haters can only bother you if you aren’t doing anything to prove them wrong. I can’t sing? I’m singing on the treadmill and practicing my a** off. You think I’m fat? I’m already in the gym! You think I’m irrelevant? Watch the f*** out!”
Demi Lovato announced her decision to bid farewell to The X Factor immediately following the season finale. The singer told the folks over at E! Online that she was “itching” to get back into recording and performing music . She also said that her decision to leave the show didn’t mean she was going to laze around all day.
“I wouldn’t call it I’m taking the year off… I’m getting ready to go on a bunch of tours that I’m planning and that I’ve announced. I’m going to start the Neon Lights tour, which is going to be an awesome show that I’ve never done before,” Lovato explained.
She also told reporters , “I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that. It’s been really great, but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music — touring and making a new album.”
