Ariana Grande wants her fans to know that she’s just like everyone else on the planet.
If you sit around the house wondering about all the fabulous things the singer does when she’s not onstage, then you’re wasting your precious time. According to Grande, she’s just a normal girl who’s really not into typical teenage stuff.
“I think I’m an old soul. What excites younger people doesn’t excite me… I’m kind of a boring, normal girl who likes Harry Potter and to sit in her pajamas and sing. A lot of my friends are partiers, but I’ve never really clicked with that,” Ariana explained during a recent interview with Cosmo .
The singer continued, “I like Barbra Streisand, and when was the last time you saw Babs getting, like, turnt up? That’s kind of the road that I, as a lady, would like to go down.”
However, just because Ariana Grande is still in her teens doesn’t necessarily mean that you can push her around . Her sweet personality and easy-going attitude often give people the wrong impression. Those who think they can pull one over on the girl are certainly in for a big surprise.
“I’ve dealt with a lot of people not knowing what to expect from me because of my age and my personality. People often mistake my kindness for weakness, and they didn’t expect much from me, because at the end of the day, I’m just a nice Italian girl from Boca,” she explained.
Although Grande and The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes are no longer together, she didn’t have anything negative to say about the guy during her recent chat. In fact, apparently Nathan was a perfect gentleman during their very first date late last year.
“We were going back to his hotel to watch a movie, and he had Laduree macarons and sunflowers waiting — I love Parisian baked goods, and sunflowers are my favorite flower,” Ariana said.
She added, “He had taken the DVD player out of the bedroom and into the living room, because he said he didn’t want to take me into the bedroom on the first date.”
Judging from her comments on Twitter, Grande isn’t going to let the new year unfold without a few surprises for her fans and supporters. The singer recently teased on Twitter that “2014 is bout to be somethin’ else.”
