Duck Dynasty News: Phil Robertson ‘Reinstated’ By A&E For Season 5?

The latest Duck Dynasty news and rumors claims Phil Robertson has been reinstated by A&E for Duck Dynasty Season 5. But is it merely just a pointless gesture?

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Cracker Barrel pulled several “offensive” Duck Dynasty products but quickly reversed that decision after the backlash . The odd part about that whole controversy is that the only products pulled from shelves were A&E products while Duck Commander products, which directly benefit Phil’s family business, were kept stocked.

After the announcement of the suspension of Phil by A&E, Duck Dynasty fans began petitioning the network as well as threatening a boycott . And then the family released a statement that hinted it’s possible we could see Duck Dynasty cancelled :

“We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty.”

After being featured on popular cable TV talk shows, the Facebook page called Boycott A&E Until Phil Robertson Is Put Back On Duck Dynasty has since grown to over 1.7 million likes, which may include a significant portion of the DD audience. And this FB page is also where the Duck Dynasty news about A&E having Phil Robertson reinstated comes from:

“I have been receiving messages stating that Phil has been reinstated. Let me clarify, Phil has not been put back on the show. What happened, is that A&E said they will not be removing him from the already filmed episodes for next season. Keep sharing and fighting! We’re almost at 1.8 million!”

Duck Dynasty Season 5 is set to debut on January 15, and they’ve already filmed all 10 of the episodes, many of which feature the Duck Commander. So for A&E to unofficially make this announcement could be considered an attempt at appeasing the fans.

As of Friday, December 19, the number of viewers had dropped by 71.6 percent, potentially due to the A&E boycott. So, if anything, only Duck Dynast y Season 6, assuming it isn’t cancelled, would be affected by A&E’s decision to suspend Phil Robertson.
