Kevin Hart had an absolute blast working on the upcoming sports comedy Grudge Match .
The extremely successful actor and stand-up comedian felt incredibly privileged to work alongside such screen legends as Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro. Hart fans will get a chance to see the flick when it lands in theaters on Christmas Day.
While chatting up the folks over at Eurweb , Kevin Hart said he was very thrilled to work with Stallone and De Niro. If that wasn’t enough of an honor, the comedian also worked with such talent as Kim Bassinger and Alan Arkin.
“I’m up here as a student of the game with a bunch of stars right now. From Sly to Bobby to Alan to Kim, I was in great company. I was a kid in a candy store,” he recently told the website.
The Death at a Funeral star continued, “I got to work with people who have been doing this for a long time and who all have successful careers. For me, it was just about sitting back watching how they work and appreciating how they approach their craft.”
According to Global Grind , the comedian said that he learned quite a bit during his time on the set of director Peter Segal’s Grudge Match . In addition to honing his craft with the likes of Stallone and De Niro, Kevin Hart explained that he wants to become much more involved with his cinematic endeavors.
Hart also discussed the possibility of bringing his alter ego Chocolate Droppa to the big screen. However, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for this project to happen anytime soon.
“If I were to (make a movie) it would be something that builds. Right now, people know what the character is about, but it would have to be well written and done correctly. Right now, I don’t know what that complete story would be,” he explained.
While you’re waiting for the Chocolate Droppa flick, you can satisfy your desire for Kevin Hart-related humor with Grudge Match . Check out the official synopsis below.
“De Niro and Stallone play Billy ‘The Kid’ McDonnen and Henry ‘Razor’ Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both their careers. Thirty years later, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr., seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer they can’t refuse: to re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all.
But they may not have to wait that long: on their first encounter in decades, their long-festering feud erupts into an unintentionally hilarious melee that instantly goes viral. The sudden social media frenzy transforms their local grudge match into a must-see HBO event. Now, if they can just survive the training, they may actually live to fight again.”
