Bruno Mars took home a lot of trophies at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Guess who’s a little irritated that the singer received so many honors? That’s right — Kanye West.

The controversial rapper took a moment during his show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday night to discuss Mars’ multiple awards at the event. West, who is never one to shy away from sharing his thoughts and feelings with the world, wanted everyone in attendance to know just how he felt about the situation.

“When I went to the MTV awards, Rick Rubin hit me, he said, ‘are you performing at the MTV awards?’ I was like, ‘yeah.’ He said, ‘look man, just do your song and leave.’ Sure enough, I’m sitting there, I’m tryna enjoy motherf***ers performing and s***. I see Bruno Mars perform. And then they start giving out awards and shit,” West explained at the show.

He continued:

“Bruno Mars won all the motherf****ing awards and s***. And I was thinking about what Rick Rubin told me, because I don’t give a f*** about no TV show. But what I care about is if you’re an artist and you work hard as f–k and the streets say that you deserve that s***. Then can’t no motherf***ing networks try to gas everybody up so they can sell some product with the prettiest motherf***er out.”

In addition to discussing his displeasure with Bruno Mars and the numerous awards he received at the MTV VMAs, West also revealed a conversation he had with Oprah Winfrey . Apparently folks are a little afraid of the rapper, and she felt the need to tell him about it.

“And I sit down with Oprah and she say, ‘they scared of you, Ye.’ She didn’t say I wasn’t the most talented… I said, ‘Oprah, it’s a new day,’” West told everyone in attendance.

What’s great about the rapper’s recent rant is that it occurred while he wore a weird mask and a baggy coat. Want to see the clip in question? Have a look at the embedded video. It’s definitely worth a watch even if you’re not a fan of West.

This isn’t the first person Kanye West has ranted about in recent days. The Inquisitr previously reported that the rapper took issue with the “s*** products” the folks at Zappos peddle to their customers. In response to West’s comments, CEO Tony Hsieh responded with a hilarious addition to the company’s catalog.
