Justin Bieber, or someone on his behalf, has clarified inaccurate information posted on his official Twitter account that stated he met with President President Enrique Peña Nieto and his family on Monday, Nov. 18.
The corrected message now reveals he met with the leader’s family and friends.
In the original tweet, which has been deleted from the 19-year-old’s feed, the teen wrote ,
“Just met some amazing Mexican Beliebers and the presidente of Mexico and his familia. Now it is showtime. 60,000 tonight. Night 1. Te amo,” before his Monday concert in Mexico City.
Within a few minutes, the official Twitter account of President Nieto’s office denied the superstar’s claim in a brief but dismissive message that read:
“@Presidenciamx denies meeting between President @EPN with the singer @justinbieber.”
Contact.com adds representatives for the Central American leader also issued a statement assuring the people of Mexico, the President was “focused on internal activities with members of his cabinet.”
Bieber, or someone tweeting on his behalf, clarified the misunderstanding via Twitter on Tuesday, Nov.18, writing, “*correction. I met the presidente’s family and all their friends in the private meet and greet with security. They were very nice.”
TMZ reports sources close to the singer said it was an honest mistake because Justin was told he had a pre-show meeting arranged with the “President’s family.”
The embattled heartthrob reached out to fans after the corrective tweet was posted, saying he felt hurt by many of the things written about him.
A lot of things get said about me. So many things not true. And it hurts especially that people believe it. But I got all of u so…

Meanwhile, Justin performed at his final Latin America concert in Mexico City on Tuesday, Nov. 19, taking to Twitter afterwards to thank Mexican fans for a “great show” despite “lots of rain.” The gig wraps a tortuous leg that is still rippling legal and perceptual ramifications for the singer.
Amid reports of a raucous party — reportedly attended by over 100 guests including Chris Brown, Trey Songz, T.I., Snoop Lion, champion boxer Floyd Mayweather and, Brit DJ and glamour model Lauren Pope — at Bieber’s Calabasas, Calif., mansion on Friday — Los Angeles police reportedly visited the singer’s home three times after neighbors’ complaints about music levels.
It’s alleged naked strippers also attended the party and were tipped to the tune of thousands of dollars by guests. Claims that marijuana and alcohol were consumed at the bash emerged despite TMZ reporting partygoers and workers signed a confidentiality agreement with a $3 million penalty clause, that forbade any and all forms of communication about details of the party.
Doorstepped by TMZ the day after while strolling in West Hollywood, the Canadian star described his party as “It was wild. It was some Great Gatsby s***, man.”
Justin is scheduled to appear on Good Morning America this week to talk about his Christmas Day debuting concert-movie Believe, for which a theatrical trailer has been released.
The pop prince is now break from his Believe tour before his first ever concert in Auckland, NZ. on Nov. 23, which kicks off the final Australasia leg of his 15-month odyssey.
