Apple doesn’t need to market devices like the iPad 2 very much upon initial release, after all without a single commercial and little more than a press conference Apple sold out of iPad 2 units in much of the world, while setting sales records across the globe. That doesn’t mean they don’t want to show off their devices to a wider audience and today they did just that with the release of a 30-second commercial spot, the devices first.
The commercial is surprisingly lacking in specs (Android devices offer many of the same hardware options found on the tablet) and instead focuses on the units “natural interfaces” such as those found on iBooks and GarageBand.
Apple has made a name for their products by focusing on interface features, a smart move that allowed the first generation iPhone to take over a market dominated by HTC devices with their much better technology but lacking interfaces (before the advent of Google Android).
