Justin Bieber fever has hit Brazil in a big way.
Make that a very big way.
On Friday, a swarm of fans stormed the plush Copacobana Hotel in Rio de Janeiro where the 19-year-old pop prince is staying while he performs concert dates in the country.
Hundreds of mostly teenage, female Beliebers — many reportedly waiting for hours for a glimpse of the singer — broke through crowd barriers and amassed on the hotel grounds while screaming for their idol.
The fans didn’t manage to enter the establishment and were soon rewarded for their adoration by Justin’s appearance on a balcony.
Dressed casually in a black T-shirt, sunglasses and a backwards cap, the “Heartbreaker” star can be seen in photos and videos smiling and waving at the faithful and taking personal snaps on his iPhone while members of his crew joined him.
Earlier that day, Bieber uploaded a Viddy of a similarly exuberant crowd of fans screaming outside his hotel, simply captioning it “Brazil!!!!!”
On that occasion, the singer appeared on a balcony with friends wearing a Hard Work City sweatshirt and a grey baseball cap.
The Canadian is currently steaming through the South America leg of his mammoth Believe world tour, having completed a brief Central America jaunt. Justin will perform at two arena concerts, the first in Sao Paulo tonight (Nov. 2) and Rio the following night.
Ahead of the Rio show fans queued for tickets for 50 days beforehand for best spots, with around 150 die-hards setting up a makeshift tent city.
After Brazil, Bieber’s 154-date tour moves on to Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, then hits the last Australasia leg which wraps in Perth on December 8.
Running alongside his tour, the singer kicked off a 10-week song series on Oct. 7 dubbed “Music Mondays” in which one single is released on iTunes every Sunday at midnight. On Friday, Bieber announced his next song “Bad Day” and revealed its artwork via Instagram.
In addition to posting clips of his shows in Latin America and a lighthearted clip of the Believe tour dancers and crew hamming up to rap duo Salt and Pepa’s classic hit “Push It,” Justin encouraged fans to get behind his upcoming single .
Taking to Twitter on Friday, the singer wrote, “This #MusicMondays is from the heart I need u to #pushit #badday (sic).”
