Everything is awesome in Legoland. Don’t believe us? Watch the Lego Movie and the lyrics literally tell us that “everything is awesome.”
Unfortunately for Lego man Emmet, voiced by Chris Pratt, everything doesn’t remain awesome for very long. That’s because he is just an ordinary guy who is told he is “The Special.”
Emmet is asked to save Legoland from its enemies. According to prophecy, “The Special” is a Master Builder of extreme power and the only man who can defeat the evil Lord Business, voiced by the always funny Will Ferrel. If he fails, Lord Business will destroy the world and all living Legos.
The movie is the first full-length feature for the Legoverse and it features an amazing cast that includes Morgan Freeman as Vitruvius, Elizabeth Banks as Lucy and Will Arnett as Batman. Cobie Smulders, Channing Tatum, Liam Neeson, Jonah Hill, Alison Brie and Charlie Day are also confirmed for various roles.
The Lego Movie debuts on February 7, 2014.
If the new trailer is any indication, the Lego Movie could be one of the biggest releases of 2014. The trailer was only uploaded on October 31 to YouTube and it has already racked up 1,838,209 views. The trailer has received 12,409 thumbs up votes and 510 thumbs down votes.
Admittedly, when I first heard about the Lego Movie, I was a bit miffed that it was moving forward. However, 10 seconds into this new trailer, the Batman introduction has completely changed my mind. Perhaps a children’s toy which encourages a good sense of imagination is the perfect option for making a full-length animated movie.
Do you plan on heading out to see the Lego Movie when it debuts in 2014? Do you think, based on this first trailer, that the Lego Movie could become a viable series for Warner Bros?
