The feud between Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga took a public turn on Twitter this week, with the former calling out her pop star rival after the eccentric singer presented Sharon Osbourne with a birthday cake for Kelly.
While the younger (and elder) Osbourne woman is not shy about making her opinions known about anyone, the Lady Gaga critique was particularly pointed given the ostensibly nice gesture as well as Kelly’s visibly annoyed response.
This leg of the long-running fight began on Kelly’s birthday, when Gaga visited the X Factor UK set and sat for a pic with Kelly’s mom — holding a cake that wished Osbourne a happy birthday.
Kelly responded on Twitter, admitting that criticizing a birthday cake seemed petty, but she still had some grievances to air. Osbourne said that she didn’t want to be a jerk about it, but that the gesture from Lady Gaga fell flat considering that Sharon Osbourne, not Kelly, was the one getting the cake, for starters.
“Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar.”
It didn’t even stop there — Kelly then tweeted a pic of the cake (later deleted) with a profane hashtag.
Apparently, the Lady Gaga Kelly Osbourne feud goes years back, when the reality star declared the singer to be a “butterface” (a statement that acknowledges a woman’s fit form, and declares her sex-worthy, “but her face…”) publicly.
Per Us Magazine , Gaga struck back — but not with an ad hominem attack. Instead, the star hit Kelly in the career relevance, saying in a letter:
“Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.”
The mag adds that Sharon subsequently accused Gaga of bullying Kelly — perhaps because the pop star’s loyal fan base was not pleased their idol had been insulted by the Obsournes star.
Clearly, Sharon is over it — she tweeted after the cake meeting and other X Factor UK goings on:
“Blown away by Lady Gaga’s performance and graciousness.”
Apparently, Kelly is willing to forgive too. The initial tweet remains up, and reads:
Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar

However, she later said:
@ladygaga I acted like a child last night. Just not into publicity stunts call me & we will end this like adults I dont want 2 fight anymore

Lady Gaga has not addressed Kelly Osbourne on Twitter since the feud began anew, and it’s not clear whether she accepts her former rival’s apology.
