Miley Cyrus Thinks Of Herself As An ‘Underdog’

Miley Cyrus firmly believes the media is trying to tear her down. Because she feels victimized by the press, the controversial singer thinks of herself as an “underdog.”

Cyrus spends a lot of time addressing detractors these days, thanks in part to her oversexed MTV Video Music Awards performance and the revealing “Wrecking Ball” video. If you’re not having fun at the singer’s expense, then you probably spend a lot of time discussing how raunchy the former Hannah Montana star is these days.

The “underdog” comment arrived during Cosmopolitan magazine’s recent interview with Miley Cyrus. Although everything is “chaotic and crazy” right now, the singer insists she’s “living for it.”

“Everything is so chaotic and crazy right now and it’s so much all at once, but I’m living for it. I’m just having the best time ever and everything’s falling into place like it’s supposed to. Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about,” Miley Cyrus explained.

She added, “I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now -– I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way. It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Society wants to shut me down.”

Punk rock fans might disagree with the comparison, but it’s definitely not en vogue to say you’re a fan of the singer right now. Instead of wasting precious time worrying about what people think about her lifestyle or her failed relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth, Cyrus insists she’s focusing on her music.

The singer told the magazine:

“This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s not what God wants my life to be about right now. God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people and being blessed.”

Need a last minute Halloween costume idea? A lot of folks are going as the singer this year, including Paris Hilton. The Inquisitr previously reported that the hotel heiress dropped close to $5,000 on her outfit from Trashy Lingerie. However, all you really need is a foam finger, a protruding tongue, and limited twerking skills.

If you’re still a fan of Miley Cyrus and you’re punk rock enough to admit it, then you should try your best to catch the singer during her appearance at this year’s Jingle Ball . The Inquisitr previously reporter that Cyrus and fellow VMAs performer Robin Thicke are presently scheduled to appear at this year’s holiday event.

Are you a fan of Miley Cyrus ? Do you think the “Wrecking Ball” singer is an “underdog”?
