Katharine McPhee may be in some hot water. The American Idol alum, who is very much married to longtime love Nick Cokas, just got caught kissing someone who isn’t her husband. So who is McPhee locking lips with? It’s none other than Michael Morris, the director of her failed television show Smash .
The catch is that Michael Morris is also married. Michael has been married to In Plain Sight actress Mary McCormack since 2003. The two also have three daughters together, but you would never know it. The same goes for Katharine McPhee, as the two seemed to be pretty engaged in their make out session just the other day.
When reached for a comment, both reps for Katharine McPhee and Smash director Michael Morris had no comment about the salacious photos. The two met on McPhee’s short-lived series Smash , and although the show only lasted for two seasons it seems like both McPhee and Morris struck up something that lasted well beyond the show’s cancellation. That said, it’s still a shock to see the two kissing openly in public seeing as McPhee hasn’t announced a separation from her husband, and Morris seemed pretty steady with his own wife.
The last we heard from McPhee about her life with her husband, was during an interview with Lucky magazine , which was in January. Perhaps an indicator of trouble in paradise, the singer turned actress said that she wasn’t quite ready to have children yet:
“I once thought that by now I’d have lots of children, but actually I’m really enjoying being able to go from point A to point B and the only worry I have is have my dogs been walked. I’m selfish right now, but that’s how and where I should be. The thing is, work is the thing I love the most.”
It looks like now we know why Katharine McPhee loved her work the most.
