Fifty Shades Of Grey has finally picked its Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel. Are you ready? Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson will be steaming up the screen next August.
The announcement came on Monday, as was promised (around Labor Day), via several tweets from author E.L. James.
Many rumors have been swirling around ever since the project was announced. Names such as Henry Cavill, Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and other had been hoped for by fans wanting to see their favorite actor cast as the millionaire lover.
There was not as much talk about who would play Anastasia, although rumors had recently picked up in that department as well.
In two separate reports from last week, which were shared here at The Inquisitr, both Charlie and Dakota were named as part of those leading the list of names the studio was interested in.
Apparently, it took Hunnam a little while to finally decide that he wanted to play the role, as it is reported he was offered the part, but didn’t accept only to turn around and reconsider.
It will be interesting to see how fans react to the news of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson cast in Fifty Shades Of Grey.
Dakota is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith and had a small but memorable role in The Social Network. She also starred in Need For Speed, 21 Jump Street, and The Five-Year Engagement.
For his part, British actor Charlie Hunnam , has recently starred in Pacific Rim and the television series Sons Of Anarchy.
E.L. James is the author of the novel with the same name and she took to Twitter to make the announcement of the much anticipated casting.
Good moaning all. Hold on to your hats…
