Barack Obama is setting up a legacy-protecting shadow government in D.C. for the specific purpose of derailing the Trump train, i.e., thwarting the policies of the incoming Donald Trump presidential administration.
That is the contention of controversial author Edward Klein.
ED Klein, who has written several best-sellers that are unfavorable to the Clintons, including the latest called Guilty as Sin , previously claimed that Hillary Clinton couldn’t stop crying after she lost the election to Trump in what was a shock to her, her campaign team, and the poll-driven mainstream media .
While the tears were flowing, Clinton reportedly blamed FBI Director Comey and President Obama for Trump’s victory, according to Klein. The author is a former Newsweek and New York Times editor. Earlier in the campaign when speculation was rife about Hillary’s health , Klein claimed that she was seriously ill with numerous maladies.
In an interview on Fox & Friends , Ed Klein made it abundantly clear (see clip below) that he isn’t buying the story that the Obama family is staying in Washington because that is their kids’ preference.
“For the past 100 years every president who is outgoing has packed up his stuff gone home and not criticized his successor. This is not what the Obamas are planning to do. They rented an eight-bedroom mansion in the Kalorama section of Washington from Joe Lockhart, who was Bill Clinton’s last press secretary. In that house there’s enough room for Valerie Jarrett as well as Michelle and the kids. A place for ten cars to park. They are setting up what they are calling a shadow government.”
Perhaps overdramatically, Klein described the so-called shadow government as almost an insurgency operation rather than a standard political think tank.
“They are staying there because despite what the president said in his press conference, he’s in a sense of outrage over this incoming Trump Administration, which he thinks is going to wipe out his legacy. So he’s setting up this kind of almost insurgency; he’s picking people in foreign affairs, labor, abortion, union matters. He’s setting them up to start appearing on television, making speeches and doing op-ed pieces. For the next four years, you’re going to see not only a Trump Administration, but you’re going to see a shadow government opposing the Trump administration…”

He also seemed to suggest that demonstrators would seek to disrupt the inauguration on January 20 when Trump and VP-elect Mike Pence are sworn in on the Capitol grounds.
Shadow governments by the opposition party are common and made public in parliamentary systems like the U.K. where the transition to a new administration often takes place within a matter of days rather than two months-plus in the U.S.
On day one or shortly thereafter, Trump has vowed to cancel many of Obama’s executive orders and has also promised to work with Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare among other initiatives.
In an interview with NPR that aired today, Obama explained that he wants to be a talent scout of sorts or possibly a recruiter/coach for the Democrats, Politico reported , to help them rebuild after the loss to Republican Trump, himself a former Democrat and independent, and whose win was confirmed today by the electoral college.
“Obama accepted some responsibility for his party’s failure to retain some of the rural and Rust Belt voters who supported him in 2008 and 2012 but voted for Trump.”
Obama is now on a two-week vacation in Hawaii.
During the two terms of the Barack Obama administration, Democrats across the country have lost about 900 state legislative seats, 35 state legislative chambers, 13 U.S. Senate seats, and 14 governorships, LifeZette detailed .
