Marcia Clark’s Dateline special revealed some great gems about the 1995 O.J. Simpson trial. Clark was the hard-hitting prosecutor who wanted more than anything else to win the case for the Goldmans and Nicole Brown’s family. As we know, Simpson was accused of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Nicole’s friend Ron Goldman.
In a verdict that polarized the nation, Simpson was found not guilty and went free, something that to this day still haunts Marcia Clark. Seeing as the FX miniseries The People v O.J. Simpson is ramping up interest in the murders, which happened over 20 years ago, Clark got to break her silence for a sit-down interview.
During the interview , she revealed that Kris Jenner, who was a far cry from running her own empire in the entertainment world, would have made for a great witness in the case. Jenner was allegedly fearful of O.J. Simpson. Of failing to use Kris Jenner in the case, Marcia Clark said that it was considered “hearsay.”
“I couldn’t put it in. [But] I would have been happy to put her on the stand; she would have been a great witness,” said Clark.

As most of you know by now, Kris Jenner was a friend of the Simpsons but was close to Nicole Brown Simpson. She attended the trial every day, wearing maternity wear that Nicole had given her right before her brutal death. At the time, she was pregnant with her daughter Kendall Jenner. When she gave birth, she honored her late friend by giving Kendall her namesake for her middle name. Her ex-husband, the late Robert Kardashian, was part of O.J. dream team of defense lawyers.
As the hit FX series goes on, we’re learning new details about Kris Jenner’s position. For instance, the Inquisitr reported that Jenner “begged” producers to hide some facts that may tarnish the Kardashian brand. As we know, that’s her number one priority and source of income. She wanted a positive image for her ex-husband, and that meant she wanted producers to change a few facts or just omit them completely.
A source told RadarOnline of Jenner’s wishes, which producers seemed to honor.
“Kris asked that anything that would harm the memory of Robert not be included, as it would tarnish his legacy. It was a ballsy thing for Kris to ask for, and she got it. It was left out and not included.”
Although Jenner wasn’t heavily involved with the production, she did have a phone conversation with actor David Schwimmer for hours, as he was portraying her ex-husband. It’s not a surprise that producers wanted to appease Jenner, as she was giving Schwimmer a lot of valuable information.
Of getting the chance to speak about Robert with Kris, Schwimmer said , “She was so warm and generous with her time. We spoke for a few hours in real detail because I wanted to know who he was as a husband and a father. He was a real family man and he had a lot of strong values and ethics. There’s a lot about him that I actually can identify and relate to with him, especially the loyalty.”
Schwimmer said that he found out that Robert was very close friends with O.J. Simpson, which he didn’t know when he took on the role.
Since the series aired, we’re learning just how close the Kardashians were with O.J. and Nicole. As the Inquisitr reported, photos were released of the group vacationing together right before Nicole’s murder.
