Carrie Underwood is revealing her big plans for a second baby, and maybe even a third.
Speaking out about motherhood and family life in the American Idol special issue of People magazine, Underwood revealed that she has some big baby plans to give her 1-year-old son, Isaiah, a sibling in the near future and revealed that she and husband Mike Fisher will likely be welcoming a new baby into their home pretty soon.
“I definitely see one more baby. At least,” Carrie recently confessed to People when quizzed on where she sees herself in five years time, adding that she sees her hockey playing husband being retired by 2021 and the family of four (or more) “living in the country” in their current Tennessee home.
Carrie also opened up in the special issue of the magazine about how her first year of motherhood – Isaiah was born on February 27, 2015 – has changed her. Underwood got candid about how becoming a mom has altered her perspective on life.
“You have to become a little simpler in order to have the energy to give your baby,” Carrie said. “I feel like being a mom makes you realize the things that maybe you stressed about, thought about before, just really aren’t so important.”
“The things I do in my life aren’t all focused on me now,” Underwood continued in the magazine. “You definitely pick and choose the things that are really important for you to focus on, and of course, baby is number one.”
OK! Magazine reported back in November 2015 that Carrie and Mike were looking to expand their family in the not too distant future after a source revealed to the site that Underwood’s husband wants the couple’s children “to grow up close in age.”
Mike is “very old-fashioned and wants a lot of kids” a source continued to the site at the time, suggesting that Carrie may find herself preparing for a new baby by the time her Storyteller – Stories In The Round tour, which is currently in its first leg and expected to be extended into the new year with a second leg of shows, finally wraps.
While Carrie Underwood’s 1-year-old is undoubtedly Carrie’s number one priority right now, Underwood has been making it pretty clear in recent days that anti-bullying and defending her closest friends is also pretty high on her priority list.
Carrie took to Instagram to defend her friend and trainer Erin Oprea in a recent social media post, where Carrie rushed to the aid of her close friend after she was openly bullied by a parent at her child’s soccer game.
“This guy felt the need to post this pic of my friend and trainer, Erin Oprea, along with some really insecure and mean comments,” Carrie captioned a photo on the social media site, telling her more than 3 million fans on March 2 that the bully “was shaming her for getting in some exercise during her son’s soccer game. Not cool.”
Carrie Underwood then posted an inspirational message of her own in defense of Erin, where she praised her friend for “bettering herself” and staying fit while still spending some quality time with her family.
“Way to go, Erin! Use someone else’s negativity to help others,” Carrie captioned a screen shot of Oprea’s Facebook page about the soccer game bully. “That man obviously has a big problem… with himself. I only hope he can learn to like himself someday so he can be an adult and stop bullying others for bettering themselves!” Underwood courageously wrote on Instagram.
What do you think of Carrie Underwood ant-bullying comments? When do you think Carrie and Mike will welcome a new baby into their lives?
