WWE Rumors: WWE Offering Deals To Two Major Indie Talents

The WWE cruiserweight division was a complete flop on WWE Monday Night Raw . After the huge success of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic on the WWE Network, the cruiserweight division went to Raw and the bookers took away everything that made the tournament great. Luckily, the WWE is bringing a new show to the WWE Network called 205 Live and PWInsider reported that they are offering contracts to two major indie talents to join them.

The two wrestlers are Drew Gulak and Tony Nese. Those men wrestled in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. They have appeared on NXT. They have also wrestled on Monday Night Raw . However, they were competing without contracts, giving the company a chance to lock them up for bigger roles.

Drew Gulak and Tony Nese both wrestle for Evolve, and that company has a deal planned to work with the WWE. Evolve promoter Gabe Sapolsky has made it clear that any of his wrestlers may leave at any time if they want to join the WWE. Current top NXT tag team contenders Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa also wrestled for Evolve.

Drew Gulak has held numerous titles in the CZW, including one reign as their world champion, and won the Evolve tag team titles once. He has been wrestling for 11 years. Tony Nese debuted the same year and has won the Open the United Gate Championship for Dragon Gate USA. Gulak is 29 and Nese is 31.

In the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, Drew Gulak defeated Tracy Williams at Evolve 61 to qualify for the chance to wrestle in the tournament. He then beat Harv Sihra in the first round and was eliminated when Zack Sabre, Jr. beat him. He wrestled in his first ever Monday Night Raw match on Sept. 14 and lost in a tag team match.

Tony Nese also won his first match in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament, beating Anthony Bennett. He also lost in his second-round match, losing to Brian Kendrick. Nese made his Monday Night Raw debut on Sept. 26 and lost to WWE Cruiserweight Champion T.J. Perkins.

While the WWE Cruiserweight division on Monday Night Raw has been a huge flop, there is still hope. The Inquisitr previously reported that the WWE was starting a new show on the WWE Network called 205 Live and it will be 100 percent dedicated to the WWE Cruiserweight wrestlers.

This new show will allow the WWE Cruiserweight wrestlers a chance to actually develop personalities and create their own unique storylines. On Monday Night Raw , they have only been allowed to wrestle multi-man matches outside of the championship and no one cares about them because of this.
