‘Mob Wives’ Drita D’Avanzo Cleared Of Assault Charges–Victim, Mary Bratti, Refused To Cooperate With Prosecution

Mob Wives star Drita D’avanzo’s assault charges were dropped last week after the victim, Mary Bratti, refused to cooperate with the prosecution, NewYork Daily News reported. In February, Drita was busted for a physical altercation that appeared to occur due to a park space dispute. Drita’s husband, Lee, allegedly instigated the fight between the women and seemed pleased with his wife after the incident.

In the video [above], Lee starts off arguing with Mary over a parking spot in Staten Island. It quickly escalates when Lee appears to call Drita on the phone to “help him deal with something.” Drita shows up not long after, and she unleashed on Mary–which led to D’Avanzo being arrested. According to the police report, Drita came to Bratti’s home on Amboy Road in Tottenville, Staten Island, with the sole purpose of assaulting her. She (repeatedly) punched her in the face and fled the scene.

The details of the incident are fuzzy, and most of the media reports posted conflicting information. According to the video clip released by All About The Tea , Lee was the one who had the argument with Mary, and he called his wife to handle the situation. The police documents claimed that it was Drita that argued with Mary over the parking space, and that’s when the physical altercation happened.

The Richmond County Court District was prepared to move forward with the case, but they hit a snag when the victim, Mary, refused to cooperate with them. Without her testimony and assistance, they had no case against Drita. They had no other choice but to drop the charges. They informed D’Avanzo that she would no longer be required to appear in court, and the charges for misdemeanor assault were dropped.

“After speaking with the complainant, who indicated she did not wish to cooperate, and based upon our evaluation of the evidence, our office determined it cannot prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt and has subsequently declined to prosecute the matter. Ms. D’Avanzo has been notified that she is not required to come to court.”

D’Avanzo is best known for her feud with fellow Mob Wives cast member, Karen Gravano. They have despised each other for years, and in the last season of Mob Wives , their feud was taken to the next level. Both Karen and Drita claimed they wanted to fight each other; however, VH1 didn’t allow them to turn to violence on the reunion show. Also, neither women wanted to hash out their differences and were perfectly happy with living life as enemies.

Yesterday, Fashion N Style posted a bogus report that Bravo picked up the show for Season 7. Fans were immediately elated to learn the Mob Wives would be returning. Later, they updated the post stating it was an April Fools’ Day joke, which as you can imagine upset many fans. The fans responded by giving each other hope that soon another network will pick up the show, and Mob Wives will be back on the air.

It looks like that may not happen because Jennifer Graziano is busy filming a new project with Carla Facciolo, Renee Graziano, and Karen Gravano. In case you don’t know the cast members’ names, it’s the original cast members minus D’Avanzo. Apparently, according to the reports, while taping Season 6 of Mob Wives last year, the cast members no longer wanted to work with Drita . In fact, they began to fear their safety and hired bodyguards. Now, who knows how much of that is true–it’s nothing but unfounded rumors at this point.
