‘Full House’ Secrets Revealed: John Stamos Fought For The Olsen Twins

Full House left the small screen 20 years ago, but it is still one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. Fans still tune in to watch the series in syndication, and news of a potential revival of the series surfaced just last year. That revival has not happened yet, but it is still possible.

A new Life & Style Weekly report released on Tuesday shared some new behind-the-scenes details from the production of the popular family comedy. Some of these secrets may surprise fans of Full House , and the most surprising revelations involve the twins behind Michelle Tanner, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen .

People tuned in weekly for eight seasons and watched as Michelle aged and grew up into a little lady. However, Ashley Olsen was almost fired from the series at one point, according to Life & Style . One would think that the series could not go on without one of the twin girls, but the network wanted to let Ashley go.

“Ashley Olsen almost got booted from the show after the girls started to grow up and audiences were able to tell them apart. John Stamos insisted both twins stay on the show due to their growing popularity.”

Uncle Jesse saved the day, and both girls remained on Full House until the show ended its run on ABC. The report also revealed that Ashley and Mary-Kate had specific roles to play. It was Mary-Kate that was brought in to handle the more comedic scenes. Her sister, Ashley, filmed scenes that were more emotional.

The reason behind Michelle using both her hands to eat and write was also revealed. Ashley is right-handed and her sister is not.

John Stamos has been the driving force behind the possible return of Full House to television. However, Uncle Jesse had a different name in the original script. Stamos had the character’s name changed from Adam before production began.

Stamos has not forgotten the series. Just last week, he posted a photo of himself with actor Kevin Spacey on his WhoSay account. Spacey stars in the Netflix series, House of Cards . Stamos captioned the photo share with “Full House of Cards #RejectedTVShowNames.”

News of the revival did start a fan frenzy last year. At first, media outlets tossed out the news as a rumor, but TV Guide reported on the potential Full House revival . Stamos, Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber were all on board to bring the series back. Bob Saget and Dave Coulier were willing to help out with the project.

According to the Inquisitr , Bob Saget revealed that not everyone was on board for a revival of the sitcom. Lori Loughlin was the only member of the original cast that did not seem too keen on reviving her role for a new series.

A Full House revival is not too far-fetched of an idea. Boy Meets World was revamped and brought back to life as Girl Meets World , and that series has found great success.

The Full House cast has remained close since the end of the series. John Stamos brought Uncle Jesse and his band to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in 2013. Loughlin joined her “husband” on stage after his performance. Saget and Coulier joined Stamos in a Dannon Oikos commercial last year, and several members of the cast attended Dave Coulier’s wedding.

In addition, many members of the cast sat in the audience as Candace danced on the Dancing with the Stars ballroom floor. Candace spoke about growing up on television as D.J. Tanner in a new interview released earlier this week by TheCelebrityCafe.com.

“I enjoyed it because I’m still in the entertainment industry today. It was just a part of my life and I loved every minute of it.”

Fans have remained loyal to the series as well. Even today, people talk about the series and their love for it on social media.

Full House still airs on Nick at Nite, and TV Guide reported that 1.5 million viewers tune in to see the series when it airs. That number is higher than the amount of viewers that tune in for some new shows on television.

What do you think of these new Full House secrets? Would you watch a revival?
