Justin Bieber’s masterclass tour on “how to win friends and influence people” continues.
On Saturday, the 19-year-old was reportedly banned from Vienna’s “trendiest” nightclub after claims that his bodyguards got heavy-handed with club goers at hot spot Passage.
According to the Austrian Times , Bieber’s security detail smashed cameras and cell phones and even groped — interpreted as manhandled — young female fans, some of whom “left in tears.”
Club manager Joachim Bankel confirmed: “Justin Bieber is no longer welcome here.”
It’s yet another PR disaster for Bieber and his Believe world tour and follows a laundry list of bizarre incidents.
However, nowhere in the Austrian Times’ report does it state that the teen star groped fans.
Despite this, at least two gossip outlets boldly stated that Bieber did just that.
While the behavior of the pop star’s security — if true — is clearly over the top, deliberately embellishing what was actually reported is irresponsible.
The Sun reports that friends of the “Boyfriend” singer said the club mayhem was “overhyped.”
Meanwhile, Bieber’s ongoing ‘wild man of pop R&B’ routine has led to trouble at home as well as on tour.
He is currently front and center in a battery investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after a neighbor claimed the singer spat on and threatened to kill him during an argument last Tuesday in Calabasas, California.
The infamous London leg of the Believe world tour included complaints from the singer about a “worst birthday,” a late stage show, persistent shirtlessness, fainting, gas mask outings, and an eye-watering run-in with a British paparazzo on his last day in the capital.
That PR triumph was followed by yet another torso display in Poland and the recent quarantining of the singer’s monkey “Mally” by Munich customs officials when Bieber couldn’t produce a health certificate and whatever else capuchins take on tour.
Embattled he may be, but the teen star doesn’t appear to have lost his sense of humor.
On Monday, Bieber took on TMZ for April Fools’ Day . Announcing on Twitter that he was “taking all fan phone calls,” the pop star posted a number that was actually a redirect to the website’s toll-free tip line.
With nearly 37 million followers, Bieber’s prank could land TMZ with sky high charges, so all bets are off on what happens next.
Next stop for Canada’s youngest roving diplomat: Hamburg.
