The man left imprisoned for the murder of Meredith Kercher has attracted an onslaught of negative attention, and the reason why has some people wondering if the murder victim will ever truly have justice. The Daily Star reports that Rudy Guede has been granted a day release from imprisonment due to reported “good behavior,” and U.K. media sources, along with folks on social media, have a lot to say about this.
Guede made comments that some British media sources are publicizing as “bragging” about his day release.
“I will be able to feel the sun on my skin. Thirty-six hours, each one of them precious — I thank everybody who has had faith in me.”
The man who remains imprisoned for Meredith Kercher’s murder is still serving a 16-year sentence for his part in her death. Originally, he was one of three defendants convicted of Kercher’s slaying. Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have since been acquitted and exonerated in association with the murder of Kercher. Nonetheless, numerous people still believe Knox and Sollecito got away with murder.

Social media is playing a large role in dialogue surrounding this case. Numerous people are angry that “good behavior” has allowed a convicted murderer to walk free for approximately 36 hours. Meanwhile, this development has opened up discussion about Amanda Knox, who has also commented on Guede’s “good behavior” release.
“I’m upset by the fact that Guede has never shown any remorse. I hope whoever granted him permission did so only as part of a social re-integration programme [sic].”
Meredith Kercher was murdered while living as an exchange student in Italy in November 2007. Rudy Guede, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were convicted — all three — in the sexual assault and murder of the British exchange student.
A bit rich of #AmandaKnox to say she’s upset that #RudyGuede hasn’t shown any remorse? A case of the pot calling the kettle black…

Is t it just wonderful that #amandaknox has been fully exonerated and her case is being taken on by the ECHR. Such positive moves forward.

Knox and Sollecito both served around four years in prison, but were released on an acquittal, which was later reversed back to a conviction. Ultimately, against the hundreds of pages of official evidence against them , they were exonerated. This leaves Rudy Guede as the sole person convicted in the slaying of Meredith Kercher. This support for Guede, of course, has drawn a lot of negative attention from those who believe that Amanda Knox was wrongly convicted in the first place.
@cnnbrk @CNN The true killer is already in jail and he is Rudy Guede! For Italy to charge, acquit, charge, and then acquit is ridiculous!

@Jhansigir1 Court needs proof beyond reasonable doubt to convict, not proof of innocence to acquit. Only proof IS against Guede #amandaknox

The argument has been raised in the past that Guede should also be released from prison, since Knox and Sollecito were acquitted and court documents allege that three people committed the crime. This has his supporters asking how Guede, a single individual, committed the murder when prosecutors strongly believed that three people executed the crime.

Do you think Rudy Guede deserves his 36 hours of freedom, or is it a slap in the face of justice to allow a convicted murderer any sort of freedom outside of his sentenced imprisonment?
