Donald Trump launched Celebrity Apprentice after the success of his original show, The Apprentice , but not all of Donald Trump’s shows have been a success, according to the Inquisitr . Donald Trump’s show for MTV, The Girls of Hedsor Hall , followed women without polish and put them through a charm school. But now, episodes of The Girls of Hedsor Hall have been scrubbed from the internet and streaming.

The Daily Beast says that even after the negative connotation of the term “Uncle Tom” was explained to Donald Trump , he kept using it when referring to Lil Jon, says The Daily Beast . Uncle Tom, the main character in the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, sells out others of color and has reverence instead for whites. A longtime Apprentice staffer confirms that others in the room cringed as Trump kept using the term “Uncle Tom,” seemingly unaware that the term indicates a black man who is subservient to whites. Staffers, allegedly in vain, tried to get Trump to stop using the term, but he thought it was funny,

Staff sources say that Arsenio Hall was on that episode of Celebrity Apprentice and voiced his displeasure with the use of the term “Uncle Tom.” Staff members claim that they had to go into “damage control mode.”

“We kept trying to explain to [Trump] that that’s not a word you can use, that it’s offensive. One of the executive producers had to call him up directly to [plead with] him not to say it, and Trump was like, ‘No, that’s a saying, it’s Uncle Tom.’ There are several takes in the footage of the dailies that has him trying to figure out the difference between ‘Uncle Tom’ and Uncle Sam. He just couldn’t grasp that it was offensive… When [Trump] decides he wants to do something, that’s his way.”

Several members of the Apprentice staff took turns trying to explain to Trump that using the term “Uncle Tom” was offensive, but he seemed to think he knew better.

“It was not like he was saying the n-word, or anything. But I couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t just realize he was being offensive with that particular term!”

But now, Lil Jon has made a statement about the event, and confirms that Trump used the term “Uncle Tom” with a number of his castmates in the Boardroom, says US Weekly . Lil Jon is being very diplomatic considering how offensive the term is to almost everyone.

“When this ‘Uncle Tom’ incident happened on Celebrity Apprentice in the boardroom several of my castmates and I addressed Mr. Trump immediately when we heard the comment. I can’t say if he knew what he was actually saying or not, but he did stop using that term once we explained its offensiveness.”

Lil Jon says he is not defending Trump and doesn’t agree with many things that Trump has said.

Do you think that Donald Trump knew what the term “Uncle Tom” meant, or that it is derogatory to people of color?
