My how the NFL tables turn. Earlier this week, it was reported by multiple outlets that former Eagles head coach Andy Reid was signing with the Arizona Cardinals . In a span of days, it now appears that Reid is moments away from signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rumors have been swirling around Andy Reid since he was fired by the Eagles following their season finale loss to the Giants.
Now if new reports coming out of ESPN are true, the rumors are about to come to a surprising end. According to both Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are on the verge of making Reid their man in Kansas City.
Andy Reid and the Chiefs met for nine hours on Wednesdays, and one source close to the talks says:
“the major issues have been discussed and agreed upon.”
One of those details involves who the Chiefs general manager would be. Current general manager Scott Pioli was going to present his case after a disastrous 2-14 season to be retained. However, Andy Reid worked with recently fired Brown general manager Tom Heckert in Philadelphia.
Rumors coming out of NFL.com report that Reid wants to bring Heckert along, bringing an end to the Pioli era defined by the trade and contract extension for Matt Cassel.
Reid spent 14 seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach from 1999 to 2012. During that span, he led the team to the playoffs 9 times, appeared in the Championship game 5 times and made the Super Bowl once.
What do you think: Is Kansas City the best landing spot for Andy Reid?
