Will Smith is busy promoting his upcoming film Suicide Squad , and while attending a block party in Florida on Monday, Smith couldn’t help but perform his 90s hit, “Miami.”
Will Smith, together with his Suicide Squad co-actors, including Margot Robbie, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukuhara, went to a block party in Wynwood for the unveiling of a Suicide Squad mural on Monday afternoon. The block party was attended by thousands of fans donning costumes of their favorite characters from Suicide Squad .
As Entertainment Weekly reports, after introducing his co-stars, Will Smith sang “Miami” while his fellow actors danced behind him.
“Miami” was released as a single in 1998, but the song was included in his first solo album, Big Willie Style , which was released in 1997. Smith won the MTV VMA Best Male Video award for the “Miami” music video, which features Eva Mendes, and the song became a top-selling single worldwide.

The Suicide Squad mural, which shows the characters of the movie drawn in vibrant colors with the words, “IN SQUAD WE TRUST,” is located in Miami, Florida’s Art District, Wynwood at NW 2nd and 27th Streets. It was created by artists Didirok and Amanda Valdes, as Just Jared reports.
When asked by 7News on which line in “Miami” describes Miami, Will Smith answered , “Oh wow, ‘Spanish, Haitian, Indian, Jamaican, black, white, Cuban, and Asian.”
Will Smith also talked about the difference between “evil guys” and “bad guys” in the film.
“It was really interesting. It was fun on the set when we were trying to figure out the line. Like, what was the line between somebody who was bad and somebody who was evil?”
In Suicide Squad , Will Smith plays Deadshot, who appeared in the comic books as a nemesis of Batman. Playing a villain was part of the reason why Will Smith decided to take the role as he said last year, as reported by Cinema Blend .
“I guess I like the concept of dubious morals. I always liked to play in that area.
“I think I haven’t explored the psychology enough of Deadshot, somebody who could take money to kill people; how he justifies that for himself.”
Suicide Squad will be released in theaters in just a few days, and the entire cast is busy promoting the film.
On Tuesday, director David Ayer, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie were at Toronto’s Distillery District to open an exhibit dedicated to Suicide Squad . A fermenting cellar in the location was turned into the DC Universe’s prison, Belle Reve Penitentiary, and the exhibit is complete with props from Suicide Squad , murals, and even prison cells. As Toronto Life reports, the Suicide Squad exhibit can be viewed by the public on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

At the opening of the exhibit, Toronto Mayor John Tory expressed his gratitude to the filmmakers and actors for shooting their film in Toronto, as it helped boost their economy. Toronto is one of the most popular filming locations in North America, and Margot Robbie said that people in Toronto were so nice to accommodate them. “I’ve filmed in big cities before. And I’ve never had the people living in that city be so nice about it,” she said.
Suicide Squad will be released in theaters on August 5.
