Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones , is pretty sure that her co-star Kit Harrington, who plays fan-favorite Jon Snow, isn’t coming back after meeting a rather gruesome end at the end of the Season 5 finale. According to Maisie Williams, she doesn’t have any insider information on the subject, but the general consensus among the cast and film crew is that there isn’t going to be any miracle, and Kit Harrington’s character is going to stay dead .

It is, however, another nail in Jon Snow’s coffin for those especially steadfast fans who still cannot get over the fact that their favorite fictional character is gone. Immediately after the final episode of Season 5, the internet was rife with theories and conjectures as to how Jon Snow can return, but so far we’ve seen nothing but refutations. For example, as reported by the Inquisitr , somebody spotted the actor with his characteristic Jon Snow hairdo after the season’s finale.

“Conspiracy theories started as soon as the GoT finale was over. They shifted into overdrive recently when Harington was spotted at Wimbledon with long hair, which his Game of Thrones contract insisted that he keep. One of the most popular conspiracies is that Jon Snow may have turned into a warg — perhaps with the help of Melisandre — and would take the form of his dire wolf, Ghost.”

However, according to Mirror , Kit Harrington himself admitted to being sacked from the show , which is about as straightforward as these matters get.

“The actor, who has starred in the HBO fantasy epic since the pilot but in the season five finale was murdered by his own men, also revealed that he was sacked from the show that made its name by unexpectedly killing off characters. ‘I had a sit-down with Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff], we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, ‘Look, you’re gone, it’s done.’”

So, unless we are dealing with an elaborate scheme cooked up by the show’s creators, fans should really get over it and forget about Jon Snow. After all, he is just one casualty in a show that is famous for unexpectedly killing off lead characters. Maisie Williams reacted to his death with a whimsical tweet , so it cannot be all that bad, right?
